Precautions for Carton Openers
About Creases:
1. For cartons with a thickness of 5 or more layers, the creases should be deep.
2. For cartons with a thickness of 5 or more layers, the long side creases should ideally be one carton thickness higher than the front and rear wide creases.
About Side A:
1. Side A refers to the front of the carton that the carton opener’s suction cups will hold.
2. The printing direction of Side A determines the top and bottom of the carton.
3. The printing direction of Side A determines the machine’s forming direction (left or right).
4. The direction of Side A must be consistent across all machines.
5. Before forming, ensure that Side A has no fold marks and that the surface is smooth.
About Material:
1. The material should not be too soft and the surface should be smooth. Samples should be provided if possible, especially for high-speed carton openers.
2. For materials with a thickness of 5 or more layers, sample verification is required. Regarding Beveling:
1. In principle, the inner flaps of all carton materials must be beveled, especially for cartons with more than five layers and requiring faster production.
2. The purpose of beveling is to prevent jamming during unpacking and forming due to non-standard construction during stapling or gluing.
3. The bevel placement is shown in the diagram. The cut dimensions are: H is approximately 2/3 the height of the front and back inner flaps, and W is approximately 4 times the thickness of the carton.
About the flaps:
1. When manually folded and flattened, the outer flaps on both sides must not overlap; ensure a 2-3 mm gap.
2. When folded and flattened, the front and back inner flaps must not overlap. If this occurs, a sample must be provided.
3. The front and back inner flaps and the outer flaps on a square box are generally the same size, so beveling is essential for proper forming. Regarding dimensions:
1. When planning a carton opener, it is recommended to provide a complete specification list (length, width, and height) as a reference.
2. Special attention should be paid to rectangular boxes or boxes with significantly different length, width, and height ratios.
3. Carton openers with the same mechanism generally work with larger boxes, not smaller ones, and vice versa.
4. The same mechanism is not suitable for handling cartons with significantly different proportions.
